Equipment Rental

Did You Know?

DBS&A’s Hydrologic Testing and Research Laboratory rents the following specialized field equipment. For additional information on our equipment, please contact our Warehouse Manager, Jim Calvert, 505-889-7752, or email dbsa@dbstephens.com.

  • Bennett Pump - used to sample deep wells to a depth of 700 feet. It is mounted on a 12-foot trailer formobility. Can be used with nitrogen or compressed air.
  • Air Entry Permeameter - used to measure saturated hydraulic conductivity in the field for landfill cover and liner material. Measures saturated hydraulic conductivity of low permeability soils in 1 to 8 hours. When combined with a field nuclear gauge to determine air-filled porosity, the AEP allows for real-time approval of compacted soil cover or liner systems.
  • Ponded Infiltrometer - used to measure the saturated and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity in the field. Unsaturated hydraulic conductivity measurements can provide a rapid and sensitive indicator of the effects of soil compaction, soil texture, management, and root growth on soil hydraulic properties.
  • Tension Infiltrometer - used to measure the saturated and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity in the field. The hydraulic conductivity function near saturation is also useful in predicting solute movement.
  • Troxler 3440 Gauge - used to conduct soil moisture and density compaction testing. Often used at construction sites to perform quality assurance on recompacted soils.

We have a radioactive materials license and can perform
field moisture and density testing
with our Troxler 3440 gauge or
CPN 503 DR neutron probes.
